Nice throwback to those old games soundtracks! Sounds kinda like jet set radio :) I really like this piece and I can definitely tell you put blood sweat and tears into this, I'd say it lacks a bit of a drone in the background, kinda like a bass but even deeper and also a section for a clean solo that really rises about the rest, theres a flute melody line, but not really any climax. I would just be a bit conscious towards the transition in the first parts. From a hard street style drum beat that suddenly evolves into this jazzy mood, it needs to be like evolution, slowly growing! Give it some wings and help it fly :)

TwelfthChromatic responds:

Haha yeah, those drums took me ages to program, but was really worth it! I got my ideas from an artist called Soichi Terada. He composed the soundtrack for Ape Escape 1, and Ape Escape 3, so if you've played those games, you'll notice that there are some similarities, specifically the song for Coral Cave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw7jBxbHfJs

Hey not bad! Tbh it sounds a bit arabic~ i guess that comes from the use of pentatonic-ish scale. I thought the central part was the best, where the piano came in. Other than that, the tweaking is top notch ^. Thoroughly enjoyable. How i would better like it is that it lacks depth, or structure of instruments, i would like to hear more going on in this (perhaps a drone that goes on through out the piece and so on)

Look forward to see more of your work!!

b minor scale XD
thelack of dempth is somewhat fixed with better eqing and mastering it brings out more of the pitches of the basses that i used and there is alot of them :p
thanks for the review n.n

Heyo, remember me? Thanks for the review again :D I decided to dig into your songs~ *hope you don't mind ^^*
I really liked this piece of music, it fits oddly but nicely as well. Great Job on it! The chords at the beginning were harmonized. When the drums kicked in it was all cool. The sax blended in really well! I could hear the bass in the background, although i'm not sure about the glissando up (but the arpeggios were really nice) from the piano at around 1:11, the bass riff was wicked (possibly expand it into a solo with drums and just bass?) and possibly one more instrument to top it off on the high register - possibly a piccolo~ to give it that 0.5 stars more!

I loved this piece! Sound like something out of mario >.> :D

abrasounds responds:

Sure I remember you! Hahaha no problem, I actually thank your for listening to my stuff! :D

I too was thinking about making a bass solo on that par, I think it would fit nicely. Maybe I'll work on that later! And wow, thank you for the piccolo idea, I didn't think about it! I'll see if it works, good idea!

Out of Mario? Now I'm really happy hahaha.
Thanks a lot for the review!

Dubstep :P What can I say XD I'm a pretty big fan too~
This piece was aimed at glitch hop maybe?
I think that the timbre at the beginning of the pitch was too sharp, and there wasn't much depth to it (e.g, the bass)
I loved how at 1:05 you began to use that electronic bells kind of sound. The syncopation between that and the background noise was great, but there might be some dissonance that might needed to be checked (sorry~ don't know if the dissonance was intended)
The actual warpings of the sounds sounded nice xD and there were certain climaxes and drops.
What I think this piece really needs now is a final build up and a final climax and then a drop.
Overall I think this was a great piece!
you have a follower in me :D 4/5

ty for the review :3

Great Job On writing this song! I really liked it :P
In the beginning, the strings (i think?) Could use a bit more stacattor.
At around 00:48, they break into long legato strokes, and I think it could use a bit more 'vibrancy'
The xylophone has the right timbre, but the drum beats in the background could be brought out a bit more with slight variations.
Right after that we have the guitar riff that sounds rather nice with the flutes.
Throughout the piece, it might be good to have a defining structure with occuring riffs that you bring back from the beginning, might wanna take a look at a sonata form maybe? :)
IMHO, The ending of the piece needs a climatic build up, imagine a supernova blowing up or a galaxy being born (this is space right? :D).

All in all, it comes down to how you want to portray space, if you think space is Asian, then awesome XD. I liked this one very much! 4/5

Radiationator responds:

lmao thanks man! Those tips are all very helpful. I don't imagine space as Asian...I honestly couldn't come up with a good name so I just made something up. It wasn't my intention to be about a particular subject when I started.

Thanks again :)

Aww this is the bomb!! Gotta love the intro. The xylophone in the background really adds an atmosphere to the music. The trombone could've been made more significant, (a different melody to the trumpets perhaps?) I'm not so sure about the spacey tune at 2:11, kinda ruins the comical funny atmosphere. The solos throughout the music were really good, but kind of simple though. e.g The drum solo could have been expanded and longer, (with like a bass thumping out the notes in the background?) The piano solo, with left hand? Overall, the music was great. You can definitely feel the comical atmosphere. *was this sonata form just out of curiosity?* IMHO, the ending built up too quickly. It should get to a big climax, and end sudden. It was really good.

steampianist responds:

a sonata. well more like a loose form based on scarlatti's sonata form.. but not really. thanks for the review btw

Love the atmospheric feeling of it, might wanna make the melody of the song more dominant, the drone in the background is too loud in my perspective. I think its just lacking a section B to change the melody or improve the structure of section A.
